Why St. Aloysius?
St. Aloysius is the patron saint of the young, especially students. He shunned his family's wealth to become a priest and died at age 23 after caring for victims of an epidemic. Our parish began gathering at St. Charles before our church was built. The parish organizer was Fr. Aloys Schulbert which is short for Aloysius. St. Charles Borromeo and St. Aloysius Gonzaga were friends, there is a picture depicting this in one of our windows! Since our histories and neighborhood are tied together and we wished to have a strong patron for our young, this is part of how we got our name.
