Parish Council Notes
- Admin Update
- Finances: Similar update to last month. All parishes are in the black.
- Buildings/Grounds:
- St. Francis Roof project has begun. The shingles are going up now. Slate will be started in July. This project was fully funded; however, we're still waiting on a few pledges to come in. Thank you to all who donated! All donations collected in excess of this project (upon completion) will be place in a capital improvement fund for the parish family.
- Sewage lines from St. Henry Church to the street are going bad from old age. They're starting to price out this project for work later this summer.
- Staffing:
- Our communications director will be significantly lowering her hours.
- Additional support will be needed on staff (support evangelization efforts, CCD center, replace youth minister, teachers, etc.).
- Fr. Jacquemin will be moving to SW 8 (Southwest of Cincinnati) because he is completing his 3-year rotation assignment.
- One of the newly ordained priests will be assigned as our vicar in his replacement. This will be announced on May 18, 2024.
- Seminarian, Joey Graff will be here for the summer.
- Our communications director will be significantly lowering her hours.
- Beacon's Update: Still waiting on Rome's decision.
- Reviewed the April 26 meeting with the Merger Appeal Committee.
- Merger Appeal Committee initiated the meeting via email to Father. Upon request, no agenda was provided.
- One staff member and one council member joined Father at the meeting with the Merger Appeal Committee members, their lawyer, etc.
- It seemed the meeting was amicable; however, the days following the meeting, the appeal committee took to social media with negative comments questioning Father's integrity.
